According to the indictment, the man must have placed newsprint and several garbage bags outside the front door and then poured on sparkling liquid which ignited the door. The fire caused extensive damage and led to smoke spreading into the home.

The couple's two common children were also staying there. According to the prosecutor, the crime is serious because the fire posed a danger to several people in the property.

Threatened to light fire on son

Then he should have poured gasoline or other flammable liquid on the floor, bed and desk in the son's bedroom and also on the boy's legs and feet. Then he should have lit a lighter only half a meter away from the boy.

"Good evidence"

Prosecutor Anton Lindgren says there are many technical tracks that connect the man to the scene.

- I think the state of evidence is good. The defendant has admitted that he has set a fire but he has a different opinion on how it should be assessed.

In questioning, the man said his intention was not to harm the woman or the children.

The charge regarding robbery is that he, through threats and violence, caused the former wife to transfer more than SEK 200,000 to his bank account. It should have happened in October 2019.

The man denies all crimes.
