The UAE has strongly condemned the terrorist attack that targeted the city of Hanau in western Germany, resulting in a number of innocent civilian deaths and injuries to others.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation affirmed that the UAE expresses its strong condemnation of these criminal acts and its permanent rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism aimed at destabilizing security and stability and is incompatible with religious and human values and principles.

The Ministry also expressed its sincere condolences and sympathy to the families and relatives of the victims of this heinous crime and its wishes for a speedy recovery for all the injured.

In Berlin, German Minister of the Interior Horst Seehofer classified the violent crime that took place in the German city of Hanau as an extreme right-wing terrorist attack.

The minister described right-wing extremism as the highest security threat in Germany.

"The crime that took place in Hanao is a categorically racist terrorist attack," Seehofer said yesterday.

Seehofer added that this was "the third right-wing terrorist attack (witnessed by Germany) in a few months." He said: "The dangerous situation posed by right-wing extremism in Germany is very high."

Seehofer also stated that he would not accept the underestimation of the perpetrator’s responsibility by referring to a psychological disorder. He said: “In my view, the racial motive for this crime is completely available without any controversy, and it cannot be underestimated in any way.”

It is reported that the head of the parliamentary bloc of the right-wing populist party, "Alternative for Germany" Alexander Gauland has previously denied accusations from several parties that his party indirectly takes responsibility for this attack, speaking of "a mentally disturbed criminal in a very clear way."

For his part, the head of the Federal Criminal Police Office, Holger Munch, said yesterday in Berlin, according to preliminary estimates, that the perpetrator appeared to be severely psychotic.

It is noteworthy that a German citizen (43 years old) was killed for racist and right-wing motives by nine individuals of foreign origin in two cafes in Hanau. He also killed his mother and then committed suicide at his home yesterday evening.

German Interior Minister: The racial motive for this crime cannot be underestimated.
