In total, the harsh winds hit five trains in Västra Götaland and Halland: Uddevalla-Strömstad, Borås-Varberg, Håkantorp-Gårdsjö, Herrljunga-Borås and Herrljunga-Vänersborg.

The first two will be off during both Saturday and Sunday. The remaining three will only be turned off during Saturday.

The distances are considered to be particularly vulnerable to severe winds. For example, it is about trees standing close to the track. From the Swedish Transport Administration, the weather forecast is closely followed.

- We don't want to jeopardize travelers in any way, says Sofia Lindahl.

She says there is also a risk that bridges need to be shut down if the situation gets worse, but that such a decision is made at shorter notice.

Travelers who go on trips are asked to contact their train companies.
