Lebanese Health Minister Hassan Hamad announced today, Friday, the first infection of the new Corona virus with a Lebanese woman who arrived on a plane coming from the Iranian city of Qom.
"After the National Committee to Combat the Corona Epidemic ... met the first case today in Lebanon," Hamad told a urgent press conference at the Ministry’s headquarters in Beirut, referring to a woman (45 years old) after her arrival from Qom, noting that there were "two suspected cases" .
Medical sources have confirmed to the Lebanese newspaper Al-Nahar today that they recorded the first case of corona virus in Lebanon.
The sources revealed that a woman infected with Corona virus arrived on Thursday from Iran and was transferred to Rafic Hariri Hospital.
Iran had announced the day before yesterday two deaths due to infection with the Coronavirus in Qom, in addition to three new cases.
