WHO held a press conference on Friday warning that it may soon be overdue to stop the spread. They believe that despite the relatively small-scale spread of the virus outside China, it must act immediately.

"We still have the opportunity to stop the spread, but the window is about to close," said World Health Organization (WHO) chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus during the press conference.

Anders Tegnell, state epidemiologist public health authority, tells SVT News that he does not think the statement is as alarmist as it sounds, but is taken out of context.

- I think he rather points to the need not to let go of this. It will require continued resources, but we must continue to make every effort, he tells SVT News.

Nothing hot

Anders Tegnell believes that there is still no reason to feel worried in Sweden.

- I don't think we have any imminent threat, what we are doing now is keeping the spread of infection well and has worked so far. The fight is not lost yet. We have good hopes that it will continue to work, he says.
