Pristayko noted the important role of the UN in providing humanitarian assistance to Ukraine and supporting the efforts of the government in implementing reforms.

“I am sure that the world organization can play an active role in other areas of the settlement of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, in particular in the context of the possible deployment of a peacekeeping operation, as well as in the restoration and reintegration of the affected regions of Ukraine,” he said.

In turn, Guterresh reaffirmed his commitment to UN resolutions on respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine "within its internationally recognized borders" and assured Priestayko of his readiness to continue to provide practical assistance.

Earlier, Ukraine initiated a February 20 meeting of the UN General Assembly on the situation in territories not controlled by Kiev.

In January, the UN sent 12 humanitarian aid trucks to Donbass.
