Mountain peaks now have their correct height - eight over 2,000 meters

The top list of Sweden's highest mountains and mountain peaks has been created by the Lantmäteriet based on the most recent laser scan recently completed. There are eight mountains crossing the magical limit of 2,000 meters.

It is the mountains in Norrbotten that are at the top.

Among the mountain peaks that have been reintroduced with elevations, Sulitelma, with its 1,877 meters, is perhaps the best known.

- Once upon a time, Sulitelma was considered to be Sweden's highest mountain. In one of the maps of the time, it was more clearly excellent than our capital Stockholm, says Björn Olander, a map engineer and mountain expert at Lantmäteriet.
