Mobilization was on the rise this Friday in Algiers. That was the stake of this day, a year after the beginning of the Hirak and when he was experiencing a slowdown following the election of Abdelmadjid Tebboune . To those who wondered about the movement's capacity to always mobilize, the answer is therefore yes. Tens of thousands of people marched in the capital in peace and with a lighter police force compared to the last weeks.

In the crowd were people of all genders and ages. Some had brought balloons for this first anniversary, others had printed portraits of incarcerated demonstrators, others still those of two demonstrators who died during this year's marches. Former prisoner protesters were also seen in the procession.

Like every week for a year, protesters marched to the songs of football fans. "Where is justice, where is the law? "Chanted the young people. Some believe that the incarceration of ministers and businessmen is not enough. Neither did the promises of reform and the new Constitution. " Let them leave power to young people, " demanded a protester.
