“Among the main tasks, he identified ensuring the means of prosecutorial supervision of the targeted and effective spending of funds allocated for national projects, as well as the organization of the fight against corruption,” the press service of the Prosecutor General of Russia said.

In addition, Krasnov named ensuring the rights of minors, orphans, the disabled, veterans of the Great Patriotic War and pensioners, as well as responding to citizens' appeals, among other important areas of work of departments.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin included Krasnov in the new Council for Combating Corruption.

In late January, Krasnov announced the agency’s task of reducing corruption as much as possible through a tough response to such crimes and creating an “atmosphere of intolerance” towards them.
