Craspedotropis gretathunbergae is the newly discovered mollusc found by a research group during an expedition in Borneo, writes Biodiversity Data Journal (BDJ).

The snail has a small body and a large shell and is sensitive to drought, extreme temperatures and deforestation.

Participants in the expedition decided that the snail would get its name "in the honor of climate activist Greta Thunberg, because craspedotropis snails, like this species, are likely to be affected by climate change," BDJ writes.
