We have always claimed that the isolation of people from China was the only effective way to avoid the spread of the virus. in Italy: they told us we were alarmists and fascist-leagues. Now I hope it is clear that in both cases we were right. It was easy to be right, because it was enough to read the scientific works and reliable news, without the eyes clouded by ideology or for ulterior motives ".
Burioni then invites us not to panic: "In the same way now we tell you: don't panic. There are only six cases, let's not be surprised if there will be others: however, what we have to do is stop this virus now. The way is simple: all those who have had contact with infected people must remain in quarantine. Voluntary, compulsory, with the door closed or the door open, it does not matter. All in solitary confinement for fourteen days. And the same must apply, without exception, to who comes to Italy from China, calling at other airports ".
Finally, the virologist concludes: "I repeat, do not panic. No controversy. It is not the time for panic and it is not the time for controversy. It is the time to make the right decisions to stop the spread of a very dangerous virus".
