The CENI, the independent electoral commission, announced Tuesday through the voice of its president Tchambakou Ayassor that 19 civil society organizations and 2 institutions were accredited to observe the poll, without giving more details. Just under 3,000 national observers were to be deployed across the country, but Wednesday, dramatic.
Accused of interference by the CENI, the CNSC, the National Concertation of Civil Society has had its accreditation withdrawn. At issue: the support that the NDI, the National democratic institute, an American NGO specializing in the evaluation of electoral processes, was to give him.
Last month, the Justice and Peace episcopal council had already been refused its accreditation request for lack of neutrality, which then expected to deploy 9,000 observers throughout the country.
In addition to the 18 civil society organizations, two international institutions will also observe the vote: the African Union and the ECOWAS, the AU will have 79 observers, ECOWAS 45 for around 9,000 polling stations throughout the country. As for the various diplomatic missions accredited in the country, they will deploy a total of a hundred people on the ground.
We are in a hurry to go to vote, the campaign went well, there was no major disturbance. We are waiting for Saturday!
