Four days after the discovery of the body in the Vilaine, the investigators were able to identify the victim. Found at the Cicé lock, in Bruz, south of Rennes, the body is that of a 90-year-old woman, specifies the public prosecutor Philippe Astruc. The victim was a resident of a retirement home in Cesson-Sévigné, upstream from Rennes (Ille-et-Vilaine). The disappearance was reported on November 10.

It took three months to find the body of the nonagenarian, who traveled several tens of kilometers in the water of the Vilaine to reappear at the lock of Cicé. On Saturday morning, kayakers discovered the body, which is difficult to identify after having spent a long time in the water.

The autopsy did not reveal any suspicious trace, the investigators dismiss for the moment the thesis of the homicide.
