Now the building is ready for Hässleholm's new SiS home and in ten days the first young people will move in. The target group is school-bound young people who are LVU-placed, according to the Act on the Care of Young People.

At the SiS home, they can get help with investigation, conversation and treatment in parallel with schooling.

The new premises have more than doubled the number of places for young people placed. Before that, Hässleholm's SiS home had 18 seats. The new home has room for 40 young people.

The goal of the new business is for the young people to shorten their stay at the SiS home.

- You should not be in the institution for too long. As early as possible, one should train out in a normal environment, says the head of department Sverker Göransson.

Sweden's largest youth home

SiS, the State Board of Institutions, runs special youth homes where young people receive care according to LVU. SiS homes are growing in many places in the country, but the new premises in Hässleholm will be Sweden's largest.

It is not just the places for young people that have increased. Hässleholm's new SiS home has also tripled the number of jobs, from a staff of 50 to 150 permanent employees.
