Police were alerted to Norra Ljunggatan at the Plantation in Helsingborg shortly after midnight on January 30. On site was found a private car with extensive damage. SVT News has previously reported that the car was parked outside a property where the Al Salam mosque houses and that it belongs to an imam operating in the mosque.

In the surveillance film, it is seen how two perpetrators cut up the fence that surrounds the property. Then one person smashes the car windows with something similar to a concrete pipe. Finally, the other person throws a firework piece into the car that explodes. The duo flee the crime scene just before the dramatic bang.

The family was home when it exploded

The Imam and his family live nearby. SVT News Helsingborg told the imam's wife that the family was indoors when the explosion occurred.

- We were all at home when it happened and it sounded really loud. I breastfed my baby as it slammed and my toddlers woke up from the bang. They were scared and started crying, she says.

The incident was classified as an injury. The police are outraged and do not want to comment on whether the investigation has gone.

"A preliminary investigation is ongoing, more than that I cannot say," says Håkan Stenhällen, internal commander of the Helsingborg Police.
