“As part of the decriminalization of the North Caucasus region, the investigating authorities of the Russian Investigative Committee for the Republic based on the materials of the Federal Security Service of Russia in the Republic of Dagestan opened a criminal case against the deputy head of the Federal Property Management Agency in the Republic of Dagestan,” follows from a press release quoted by RIA Novosti.

The criminal case is being investigated under part 3 of Article 285 of the Criminal Code of Russia (abuse of power, which entailed grave consequences).

According to investigators, the suspect held a fictitious auction in October 2014 to lease a federal land plot of 16 thousand square meters. m. on the coast of the Caspian Sea in favor of the person concerned. The cadastral value of the plot is 2.7 million rubles. At the same time, the suspect instructed the member of the competitive commission not to post information about the competition, although he himself then signed a protocol for summing up its results.

Earlier, a court in Tomsk began a criminal case against the former head of the regional Department of Forestry, accused of abuse of authority.
