The municipality has reviewed all the routines and working methods available at the preschool after the incident.

- We take a very serious view of what has happened and it is important that we continue to work with what emerged during the investigation, says Anette Älmdalen, education director in the municipality of Botkyrka.

The staff should be trained

The investigation shows, among other things, that there are no written procedures for reporting duty, something that you will train the staff in.

- If it is not clear with the duty to report, who to turn to and how the information should be passed on, there can be shortcomings and that there is no report to the principal or a concern report to the social service, says Anette Älmdalen.

How are the staff and children at the preschool after the event?

- It's hard to answer. In this situation, it is important to maintain as safe and normal activities as possible from the children's perspective. We have provided crisis support for the staff and parents have also been offered call support.

Works with references

The municipality's HR department has been assigned the task of reviewing how to work with references when hiring and how information transfer can be safer. The investigation shows that references are requested in connection with recruitment, but that the transfer of data between employers has not worked.

An action plan with new rules to prevent abuse applies to all preschools in the municipality. An external investigation, as well as an examination by the School Inspectorate, will also be conducted.
