  • The facts. Ábalos held a second meeting with Delcy Rodríguez in a VIP room in Barajas

Agents of the Judicial Police of the courts of Madrid appeared on Tuesday, late in the afternoon, at the airport of Adolfo Suárez-Madrid Barajas to inform the decision of the judge on duty about the recordings of the meeting between the vice president of Venezuela , Delcy Rodríguez, and the Minister of Transportation and number two of the PSOE, José Luis Ábalos, in the early morning of January 20.

As sources related to this action explain to this newspaper, the agents, after receiving the notification of the judge on duty, in which it was ordered that all the recordings of that day be kept, were ordered to transfer the letter to the airport manager Aena, responsible for the recording, conservation and, after two months, of the destruction of this type of tapes.

The judge's decision came within the two month limit, after receiving a complaint filed by the PP to block the possibility that the recordings that collect the meeting between Rodriguez and Ábalos were destroyed.

The Police delivered the judicial request, on the afternoon of this Tuesday, to the head of Aena at the Barajas airport. According to the sources consulted, the role of the Judicial Police, at this time, does not go beyond.

The judge on duty has not instructed these agents to requisition the recordings and guard them until the judge who instructs the proceedings opened in this case decides. In fact, they explain that it is most likely that until this complaint is not distributed, no new actions on the recordings will be launched.

Precisely, on the morning of this Wednesday the name of the magistrate who will instruct the so-called Delcy case has been known. This is Adolfo Carretero , head of the Court of instruction number 47 of Madrid and the judge who filed the case for espionage in the Madrid PP. Carretero will investigate whether alleged crimes of prevarication and disobedience were committed during the Venezuelan vice president's visit to the Madrid-Barajas airport.

On the other hand, it will be Judge Antonio Serrano-Arnal , head of the Court of Instruction number 31 of Madrid, who investigates the complaint filed by the Laocrats against the "officials and authorities who ordered the non-application of the Immigration Law" during the meeting between the minister and the Venezuelan president.

Serrano-Arnal is the instructor of the cause in which the origin of the patrimony of the former Vice President of the Government with José María Aznar and President of Bankia, Rodrigo Rato, is investigated.
