After the Bleue du Nord, it is Charolaise's turn to be the star of the Salon de l'Agriculture. Europe 1 has met the face of this 57th edition, Idéale, a one-ton cow with a calm and maternal character who lives in her stable in Cours-la-Ville, in the Rhône department.

REPORTAGE

After Imminence, place at Idéale. For its 57th edition, which opens this Saturday, the International Agricultural Show has chosen to honor a Charolaise. Six years old and weighing a ton, this cow will be the star during the whole week of the show, between February 22 and March 1 at the Porte de Versailles, in Paris. To get to know the one we will see everywhere, and who will certainly have the right to have her photo with all the political leaders of the country, Europe 1 went to her place, in Cours-la-Ville, in the department of the Rhône.

"A beautiful model from the Charolais breed"

With his white coat, Idéale "is a beast that has beautiful measurements: it has a broad and thick back, plump thighs, a short head ... It is a beautiful model of the Charolais breed", proudly explains at the microphone d'Europe 1 Jean-Marie Goujat, the breeder of the future star of the 2020 edition of the International Agricultural Show. Particularly calm, and not at least impressed by the presence of strangers, Idéale is quietly taking care of her last calf, born just two months ago.

Once the homework of maternity completed, place in pampering. Before parading in Hall 1, that of the stars, Idéale regularly takes showers with water and shampoo, so that "she keeps a beautiful coat", breathes Jean-Marie Goujat. In addition to the pride of seeing his animal on all the posters of the Show, having Ideal as muse is also a recognition for a breeding method. "This is really an opportunity to testify to the desire we have to transmit this agricultural model of French breeding, which is not very productive," explains the breeder.

A star with his calf

As of Friday, Idéale will leave the tranquility of its stable in Cours-la-Ville for the Parisian bustle and its Salon de l'Agriculture. It will then be possible the next day to see her with her calf, which does not leave her with a hoof.
