Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced today, Thursday, the approval of building 2,200 settlement units in a settlement in East Jerusalem.

The Jerusalem Post newspaper quoted Netanyahu as saying that the new units will be built in the Har Homa settlement (Jabal Abu Ghneim).

Netanyahu said that the settlement was established in 1997 and its population today has become 40,000, noting that the additional units will allow the absorption of ten thousand additional people in the settlement.

He also announced the approval of plans to build four thousand units in the settlement of "Givat Hamtus" south of Jerusalem: one thousand of which are for the Arabs and three thousand for the Jews

He added, "We are working on connecting all parts of a united Jerusalem. They have removed the borders ... They are speaking while we are doing."
