In Bordeaux, right-wing mayors are elected in the first round for over 70 years. But the city could end up in March with a far left candidate in the second round, as shown by a BVA poll for Europe 1 and Orange.

INTERVIEW

There was Jacques Chaban-Delmas, Alain Juppé ... since 1947 the right has always imposed itself in the first round of municipal elections in Bordeaux. But the scenario could change in March. This is what a BVA survey for Europe 1 and Orange revealed on Thursday morning. Adelaïde Zulfikarpasic, director of the BVA Opinion department, analyzes at the microphone of Europe 1 the results of this poll which shows that Nicolas Florian, the heir of Alain Juppe, is challenged by the lists on the left.

According to the results, Bordeaux could even experience a quadrangular in the second round. It would never be seen since the post-war period. The heir of Alain Juppé Nicolas Florian could still "get out of the game by coming out on top with 40% of the vote in the 1st round of the elections", notes Adelaïde Zulfikarpasic, before the union list of the left led by the environmentalists (credited with 30% of voting intentions), Philippe Poutou (12%), and the Republic on the March (11%).

"Philippe Poutou is credited with 12% of the voting intentions, according to our poll. This is 10 points more than his 2014 score but he wears both the colors of the NPA and of France Insoumise", specifies the Director of the BVA Opinion department. "The second round will be quite tense, in any case there will be one which is a first in Bordeaux since 1947."
