Military officials say they are postponing leave for military personnel stationed in Daegu and Yeongcheon where coronavirus infection-19 (Corona 19) has been confirmed, and are enacting a ban on going out, going to sleep, and visiting.

Defense spokesman Choi Hyun-soo said yesterday about whether the Corona 19-related measures delivered to the Daegu-Gyeongbuk military forces were "introduced last night and will take effect from the moment the instructions were issued."

The Ministry of National Defense (MND) increased the number of corona19 confirmers in the Daegu and Gyeongbuk areas, and allowed families to participate in the military academy entrance ceremony.

He also controlled local unit servicemen from going out, staying out and visiting.

Choi said there are no cases of suspected infection in Daegu or Yeongcheon soldiers.

"As a precautionary measure, more than 200 soldiers have been quarantined until recently, and when they visited Singapore and Japan, they have been recruited and increased to 300," he said.

Regarding the quarantine of the soldiers who had been on vacation in the Daegu area, they said, "We will also review it and take action."

Choi said, “I think we should look more closely at the situation and decide if we are going to hold the ceremonies such as military academies, military student military schools (ROTC), and military nurse academies as our own events. He said.

When asked about the possibility of a change in ROK-US Combined Forces training, which is expected to take place in early March, "Nothing has changed so far."
