The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud received, Thursday, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), during the meeting, "the distinguished relations between the two friendly countries, the overall regional and international events, the position of the two countries on them, and the efforts made towards them were reviewed."

The US Secretary of State conveyed to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques the greetings of US President Donald Trump.

The reception was attended by: Princess Rima Bint Bandar bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the United States of America, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of State, Cabinet Member, National Security Adviser, Musaed bin Muhammad Al-Aiban.

On the American side, it was attended by John Abi Zaid, the United States Ambassador to the Kingdom, Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs David Schenker, Military Adviser Lieutenant General Ricky Waddell, Official Spokesman for Foreign Minister Morgan Ortigas, and Deputy Head of Mission Matina Strong.

Pompeo's visit to Saudi Arabia coincides with the celebration of the seventy-fifth anniversary of Riyadh and Washington the historic meeting between the founding king Abdulaziz Al Saud and former US President Franklin Roosevelt on board the ship "Quincy" on February 14, 1945, a meeting that established the strategic partnership between the United States and Saudi Arabia.
