The minister also referred to the conflicting contract of armored vehicles 8x8, whose project has been paralyzed since the winning company had not fulfilled the signed commitments. Robles announced that he had on the table a new offer from Santa Barbara , Indra and Sata that could approach what was claimed and that would allow the unlocking of the start-up of the 348 armored vehicles for whose construction the Government approved an expense ceiling that has had to increase to 2,100 million euros. Robles announced that Spain is signing this morning, along with France and Germany, the participation in the air combat system, "a capital project for the armed forces" and that it will be key in the European defense.

The minister announced the commitment of Spain to continue having a predominant role in many occasions in international missions, both of the European Union and NATO. Yes he warned of the risk that the Sahel area, a "growing danger from terrorism."

Robles defended the need to implement new initiatives to encourage defense culture. "It is essential that the Spaniards know and value what our military do, often in a deaf and anonymous way."
