At least eight people were killed in a 19-day shooting in the city of Hanau, near Frankfurt.

Reportedly, at 11 pm local time, car shootings in two pubs around the city of Hanau, about 32 kilometers from Frankfurt, killed eight people and injured five people.

Many of the injured are said to be in critical condition, and the likelihood of fatalities is increasing.

At the time of the incident, a man was said to have shot a victim while driving a car in a cafe in downtown Hanau.

The man also reportedly shot gunmen at nearby plazas.

The motive for the crime has not been transmitted yet.

German media reported the incident was related to a criminal organization, but its authenticity was not formally confirmed.

The man continued to flee and was not arrested by the police until now.
