The emergency solution that will prevent Ljungby's sewage from overflowing

Since last fall, the water flow has been high in Lagan and everything indicates that the water can rise further. Removing trees and building a dike will prevent wastewater from the sewage plant being pushed back into the Ljungbyborn home.

"We should avoid getting into a crisis situation," says Micael Holmstrand, operational manager at the Rescue Service in Ljungby.

It is one of the efforts that the municipality of Ljungby is forced to prevent flooding.

- We have taken down the railings on the Ljungsätersbron in town and it is blocked off. We monitor the water flow closely and have secured pumps from Malmö that we can pick up if needed, he says.
