About 170 people have been tested for the corona virus in Sweden and yet only one case has been confirmed, according to the Public Health Authority. On Wednesday, about 60 of the tests were conducted in the Stockholm region. People who have been to China and then return home experience symptoms of the virus are either picked up by ambulance or take their own car to the place of sampling.

- If you have been traveling in a risk area and are given signs of an airway infection combined with a fever, you should go in for assessment. Then you absolutely cannot travel by public transport, but get picked up by ambulance or drive your own car, says Per Follin contagious doctor, Stockholm region.

Low risk of spread

The Public Health Authority compiles sampling statistics from the different regions of the country, but has no idea at present of the extent to which sampling has increased. However, the authority assesses the risk of the virus from spreading in Sweden as very low.

"What we do know is that about 170 samples have been made in total," says Sara Rörbecker, press secretary at the Public Health Authority.
