“Unfortunately, so far not a single meeting with Russia on Idlib has gone the way we wanted it to,” Erdogan quoted Interfax as saying.

He stressed that "negotiations will continue."

"However, it is clear that we are very far from developing a common position," the Turkish president added.

In turn, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced Moscow’s readiness to work at the highest level with Ankara on Idlib.

Erdogan previously stated that the Turkish military operation in Idlib is a matter of time.

In the Kremlin, commenting on the possibility of such an operation, they noted that if we are talking about an operation against legitimate Syrian forces, then this is "the worst case scenario."
