Often considered too expensive in driving schools, the driving license will be accompanied by a standard contract. This Wednesday the Ministry of Economy unveils this document which will unify and clarify all the prices relating to driving in order to allow savings to the future driver.

Today, the average cost of a driving license is 1,700 euros. Wednesday, Bercy presents a standard contract for the license, which will be compulsory from June 1 for all driving schools. The government wishes by this means to lower the cost of the driver's license by making the price of each of the options to which they subscribe transparent. The measure, announced in May 2019 by the Prime Minister, makes in fact a contract that has existed since the Gayssot law of 2001.
