Rita was involved in a car accident 25 years ago, and then uses her wheelchair in everyday life. As a wheelchair cage, she realized that there were major problems with accessibility, and that it was difficult to get into shops and public premises.

She was triggered a little extra for the ramp project after a friend told her she couldn't get out of a store with a staircase, and she was eventually helped by four people who carried her and the wheelchair down the stairs.

"No one goes by without looking"

It was a year ago that she started building the ramp ramps, which she gave to stores with high thresholds.

- No one walks past a ramp without looking at it. It may be children trying to remove pieces, or adults photographing the ramp. That is exactly what the purpose is! I simply want to try to get a greater awareness, get people thinking about what it would be like if they were in a wheelchair, and had trouble getting into certain rooms. That motivates me, she says.

After her efforts she has been given a new nickname: "Lego grandmother".
