The scandal of child abuse supervised by the Administration in the Balearic Islands is increasing and despite this, the parties of the left (PSOE, Més and Podemos) that govern in the Community have prevented the creation of an investigative commission with their vote in the parlament.

Last Saturday it was learned that the National Police had arrested four men, all with criminal records, for corruption of minors and crimes against public health, suspecting that they could have drugged and sexually abused minors with whom they contacted in various parks Mahón (Menorca). Now it has been known that some two of these children were under the supervision of the Council of Menorca and this has been recognized by the Minister of Welfare and Family of Menorca, Barbara Torrent. The Minister has wanted to send a message of tranquility ensuring that from the Insular Family Service has always acted "with the utmost diligence." "Whenever we have had indications of a fact that could be criminal, we have denounced it, because we consider it our obligation and responsibility," he said.

Shortly after the case of Menorca is known, the Parliament has rejected this afternoon the creation of a commission requested by Citizens and Vox on cases of sexually exploited minors in Mallorca.

There were two proposals with the same purpose that have been discussed and voted separately and, finally, have not come forward by the votes against the entire left, PSOE, Més and Unidos Podemos. As an alternative proposal, the parties on the left have devised the creation of a commission of experts to analyze the conflict of child abuse abuses and propose solutions. At the moment it is not known who the experts will be, what tasks they will have or when they will have to present the report. PPy Citizens do not reject the commission of experts but insist that now the most urgent is the commission of inquiry.

Citizens has stated that in Mallorca at least 16 minors supervised by the Public Administration have been subjected to sexual abuse, so the obligation of politicians and the Parliament was to investigate and analyze what has happened so that it never occurs again.

Given the refusal of the leftist parties, Ciudadanos will officially request the rejection of the president of the Balearic Islands, the socialist Francina Armengol, and has requested the resignation of the Minister of Social Affairs, Fina Santiago, and the managing director of the Fundació S ' Estell, Fina Tur, reports Efe.

The deputy of Vox Idoia Riba has described as "shame" that the "hypocritical left" does not want to get to know what has happened and what has "failed" in the "aggression" to these "helpless children."

The PP has supported the initiative of Cs and Vox. Popular deputy Margalida Durán has considered that if a parliamentary commission of inquiry was ever justified, it was this and has warned that it is not about analyzing what has happened with "companies or consortia", but with supervised children who should have been protected.
