Erfurt (dpa) - Thuringia's SPD leader Wolfgang Tiefensee expects the Christian Democrats to make a counterproposal after the Left Party's push for a CDU-led transitional government. Both sides - the parties of the originally planned red-red-green alliance and the CDU - want to continue their meeting yesterday evening. Left-wing ex-Prime Minister Bodo Ramelow had caught the CDU there with the suggestion of quickly re-electing and until then to install a transitional government under the former CDU Prime Minister Christine Lieberknecht - but the CDU wants to avoid a new election.
