For a moment, a simple discussion will have changed the course of his life. Patrice, a 45-year-old man who has been homeless for 15 months in Trouville-sur-Mer (Calvados), benefited from a generous boost that allowed him to regain control of his life, reports Le Pays d'Auge .

On January 25, when he was begging at the entrance to a Monoprix, a 23-year-old girl and her friends gave him some money and chatted with him. "He has something very sincere and very touching, he had difficulty expressing himself," explains Marine, the young woman. We felt that he had not confided for a long time. We figured we couldn't leave him outside. "

Over 2,300 euros collected in a few weeks

By subscribing, young people collect enough to pay him for a hotel night. Arrived on site, several parents of young people also put their pockets there and it is four nights that are paid to accommodate the forties. Marine and her mother finally decide to launch a kitty online to raise money to ensure Patrice's comfort.

This Monday, more than 2,300 euros had been collected. A smartphone and a bike were offered to the former homeless man, who has since redone his CV and won a permanent contract in a fishmonger in the city. It should soon be housed thanks to the Communal Action Center (CCAS) in Trouville. "In three weeks, we've already seen the evolution," says Marine's mother. Even if it is not easy all the time, he is motivated and has only one fear: going back to the street. "
