The Executive Council of the Emirate of Sharjah, chaired by His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Deputy Chairman of the Council, yesterday reviewed the study presented by the Sheikh Zayed Housing Program on exploring the need for housing in the state 2020-2040, and aims to determine the availability of land in The future, defining the housing needs for each emirate, and monitoring and estimating financial needs.

The Council thanked the Sheikh Zayed Housing Program for all the efforts made in supporting the housing sector, in cooperation with all relevant authorities.

The Council also reviewed the annual report submitted by the Department of Civil Aviation for the year 2019, and Sheikh Khalid bin Essam Al Qasimi, Head of the Department of Civil Aviation, stressed the importance of the aviation sector that is witnessing significant and significant growth, and has a great influence in various other sectors, reviewing the efforts made by the Department to support the movement Air, including the conclusion of many agreements and memoranda of understanding with specialized agencies and global destinations.

He pointed to the statistics and numbers of total flights for destinations operated by regular passenger airlines and regular air freight airlines, pointing to an increase in passenger numbers by 13% and air freight by 17%.

The report included a number of initiatives and courses offered by the department within the aviation, security and safety sector, and the Council commended the efforts of the Department of Civil Aviation, which strengthens Sharjah's position in the air transport market. The Council reviewed a report on the 48th National Day celebrations, and the Chairman of the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority and Chairman of the Sharjah Emirate Committee for National Day Celebrations, Khalid bin Jassim Al Midfa, reviewed all the activities and initiatives organized by the Committee during the National Day.

Al-Midfa reported that more than 200 activities were carried out in the various cities and regions of the Emirate of Sharjah, which witnessed 170 thousand visitors, in cooperation with 18 government agencies, during which it presented national cultural, social and entertainment events that reflect the accomplishments achieved by the UAE federation, and the values ​​and customs of the Emirati society.

The Council discussed a set of proposals submitted by the General Command of Sharjah Police on supporting the containment policy that would contain addicts, and ensuring that they return to their social life.

The Council commended the efforts of the General Command of Sharjah Police in providing services and initiatives that have a great impact in preserving the security of society in all its social, health and other aspects, and directed the Council in coordination with the concerned authorities to put the proposals into practice.
