Etoile in Stockholm was one of the taverns awarded to a Michelin star. Aloë, another Stockholm hull that previously had a star, was awarded two tonight.

Frantzén and Germanium in Copenhagen retained their seats on the culinary throne as the only two Nordic pubs with three stars.

Special price for Ek

One of the evening's special prizes - the sustainability award “- was awarded to Magnus Ek, who runs Oaxen Krog in Stockholm. Oaxen Krog also retains its two stars.

In last year's edition of the guide, Frantzén in Stockholm, as the only Swedish restaurant, was awarded three stars. Two other pubs in the capital - Oaxen Krog and Gastrologik - as well as Vollmers in Malmö, Daniel Berlin in Tranås and the recently closed Fäviken Magazine in Järpen received two stars each. A further 16 Swedish taverns were awarded one star.
