Kleve (dpa) - In the trial for a suspected car race with an uninvolved fatality in Moers, the district court Kleve may pass a judgment on Monday. Two 22-year-old men from Duisburg, a German and a Kosovar are accused.
They are said to have had a race in Moers last April with their over 550 and 600 hp cars on a two-lane residential street.
According to the indictment, one of the men in the race also used the left counter lane and accelerated to 167 km / h. He crashed into the car of an uninvolved woman. The 43-year-old woman, not wearing her seat belt, was thrown out and died three days later. The Kosovar is accused of murder. Both men are accused of participating in a forbidden motor vehicle death.
Today is the third day of negotiations after the start on February 10th. Before a verdict, three witnesses can be heard and two experts can be heard. After that, the pleadings by the public prosecutor and four lawyers are planned. The husband and adult children appear as co-plaintiffs in the process.
The 22-year-old accused of murder did not care that people could die in the event of an accident, the prosecutor had justified the murder charges at the start of the trial. He had accepted the danger to life and limb of other people and had to expect a collision.
