Outside of China, there are about 500 cases spread across 24 countries. Västerbotten has preparedness for whether the virus should break out and Umeå Airport is also one of Sweden's six quarantine airports that can receive people infected with a dangerous and contagious disease.
Similarly, it is possible to isolate vessels in the port of Umeå if a similar situation arises there. But at the infection control unit in Västerbotten it is believed that the risk of being infected in Sweden is small.
