The aircraft, "Piper type PA 28 model" crashed at sea "around 7 pm (midnight French time), when it had just taken off from Dominica's Charles Douglas airport," explained the prefecture in a press release. Four people were on board: "A 55-year-old couple with their 16-year-old minor son, as well as a 40-year-old man. All are French nationals," added the prefecture.
Continuing research
The research, led by CROSS Antilles-Guyane, was launched on Sunday evening, until 3 a.m. They were suspended due to bad weather conditions, but "resumed Monday at 6 am". They made it possible to find at sea "a backpack with the passport of two of the occupants and an empty bag carrying the radio indicator of the aircraft".
