These types of watercourse levels are at a level that only occurs on average between every tenth and every fifty years, the County Administrative Board writes on its website.

The highest level ever

Svenljunga municipality has increased its readiness due to the high water levels in Ätran which have passed the critical position of 142.5 meters above sea level. We have also put weights on the bridge for safety.

At normal water flows, Ätrans's level is 140.5-141.5 meters above sea level. The level now measured is the highest ever measured.

Several basements have been flooded

In Hyltebruk several basements have been flooded during the night.

- We got calls about a couple of basements in Landeryd where there was water during the night. Up to 15 centimeters, says Mats Rydberg at the rescue service.

Alarms have also been received regarding water damage in Frillesås.
