The day after the announcement by the former Minister of Health, Agnès Buzyn, of her candidacy for the Paris City Hall for the LREM party, the campaign director of the current mayor (PS), Anne Hidalgo, reacted Monday on Europe 1, evoking a candidacy "precipitated", disrespectful towards not only the Parisians, but all the French.

INTERVIEW

Is Agnes Buzyn a serious rival for the outgoing mayor? Emmanuel Grégoire, first deputy at the Paris City Hall and campaign director for Anne Hidalgo, questioned on Monday on the question, by Europe 1, replies by evoking the "precipitous nature" of this candidacy. For him, this is "a surprise, exceptional". "Two days ago, she herself said that it was impossible for her to be a candidate given all the subjects eminently important for the country, for which she was responsible," he said, referring to the management of the global coronavirus epidemic which also affects France. "I find that it is not respectful of Parisians, and of the whole country."

Heard on europe1:

"All of this is rushed, amateur"

Not respectful of Parisians? The campaign director of Anne Hidalgo, candidate for the Socialist Party (PS), believes that a candidacy announced a month before the municipal elections raises the question of the control of the files of the city. "We are good in sprinting only if we are prepared," he says. "We cannot improvise as mayor in 30 days, it corresponds to a deep, old commitment that we have prepared, reflecting on the files".

Files which we do not know if they will be studied by Agnès Buzyn along the same lines as Benjamin Griveaux. Indeed, it has not yet communicated on its program for the city. "The question is to know if Agnès Buzyn will endorse the project of Benjamin Griveaux", points Emmanuel Grégoire, evoking subjects such as the relocation of the Gare de l'Est, wanted by the candidate who resigned, instead of which he wanted to create a large Parisian park. "This is important because that's what Parisians are waiting for," said the deputy mayor of Paris, at the microphone of Europe 1. "We understand that she was a little forced to be a candidate, that all this is hasty, amateur, "he adds.

Just as Cédric Villani did following the announcement of Agnès Buzyn's candidacy, Emmanuel Grégoire wishes "good luck" to the former Minister of Health. "What is important is that we turn the page on these adventures and that we focus again on the projects."
