The Secretary-General of the Lebanese Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah, said that the region is facing a new and inevitable confrontation, because the other side is waging wars, assassinating and confiscating rights.

Nasrallah added, in a ceremony held by the party in the southern suburb of Beirut, that Washington is the one that is conducting the confrontation and imposing it on the peoples and governments of the region who refuse to surrender, as he described.

In this context, he talked about the plan recently presented by US President Donald Trump for peace in the Middle East, and stressed that the plan is Israeli and Trump adopted it, stressing that the United States failed previously when the peoples of the region decided to confront and resist.

In this context, he said, "The people of the region have no choice but to this multiple and diverse American aggression, except for the option of comprehensive and popular resistance."

He also said that the Palestinian position is the cornerstone in facing the American plan, noting that the Palestinian people have unanimously expressed a position rejecting this plan.

Commenting on the positions of the Arab countries on the American peace plan, the Secretary General of the Lebanese Hezbollah said that the Arab position was "excellent", but he added that the positions of some countries that called for studying the plan may open a door for surrender.

Regarding internal conditions, Nasrallah said that Lebanon is going through a very difficult economic, financial and monetary situation, and called for a different Lebanese approach to this crisis.

He said that Hezbollah will not abandon the government of Hassan Diab, which gained confidence a few days ago, and will continue to support it because it is related to the fate of Lebanon, warning that the fallout from the government will be dangerous.

Israeli system
The Israeli army began planting what it described as a modern technology system in the ground, at several points on the border with Lebanon, in an attempt to monitor any new movement to dig offensive tunnels by Hezbollah.

An Israeli army statement said that this system would enable it to detect and foil any new drilling operation on the borders.

The move comes a year after the Israeli army announced that it had destroyed six tunnels across the border, saying that Hezbollah had prepared them to carry out an attack through them on Israeli towns in any upcoming confrontation between the two sides.
