Their life changed on Thursday, February 13 in the middle of the day, shortly after leaving Sessenheim, in the Bas-Rhin.

On this day, a car went off the road on the town of Drusenheim and ended its race on the edge of the motorway. On board, four passengers, one of whom died on the spot. The 40-year-old man was thrown from the car. "He was not wearing his belt," said a police source at 20 Minutes .

Its version is contradicted by the statements

At first, one of the passengers, a 47-year-old father, whose 21-year-old son was also on board, claimed that he was driving at the time of the accident. But its version is contradicted by the statements made on the scene of the tragedy then by the investigation of the motorized platoon of the gendarmerie of Soufflenheim. A call for witnesses was launched in the process.

"We found blood closer to the passenger side than the driver, our source explains, and only the father was injured, not the son." Confronted with these facts, the son finally recognized that he was the driver. He would have fallen asleep at the wheel. The father would have accused himself instead of his son "to protect him", continues our source.

Prosecuted for false declaration, the father was the subject of a legal reminder. The son was placed in police custody before being released pending the judicial follow-up to this case.
