“Today, the council added eight prominent businessmen and two organizations associated with these businessmen to the list of individuals and organizations subject to sanctions against the Syrian regime and its supporters,” the statement said.

It is specified that now the list of sanctions includes 277 people and 71 organizations.

Earlier, EU heads of government approved the decision of the EU Council on imposing sanctions against Turkey due to drilling operations carried out by Ankara in the exclusive economic zone of Cyprus.
