Corona Virus .. China announces high infections, UAE reports new case

The Chinese authorities have announced that the number of deaths from the new Corona virus has increased to 1765, while the UAE has registered a new infection, and the virus has appeared in more than twenty countries.

The Health Committee in Hubei Province, the epicenter of the outbreak of the new Corona virus in China, said that the province recorded 1933 cases and 100 deaths yesterday.

The health committee added that the total number of cases in the country exceeded 68,000 by the end of Sunday.

The province announced tough new measures to curb the spread of the virus yesterday, including requiring cities to prevent the movement of all private vehicles.

Outside China
In the UAE, the Ministry of Health announced the registration of a new case infected with Corona virus, and the UAE news agency Anbar reported the registration of the ninth case of the emerging corona virus, noting that the infection is for a 37-year-old Chinese citizen, and that his health condition is stable.

In Taiwan, the Ministry of Health said a man had died of the virus, the first death on the island where 20 cases had been detected so far.

About 500 HIV infections have occurred in about 24 countries and regions, with four deaths in Japan and Hong Kong, which is governed by China, the Philippines and France.

In Japan, the United States began evacuating 380 of its nationals on board the "Diamond Princess" quarantine ship in the port of Yokohama.

On Monday, they will be taken by plane to Travis Air Force Base in California, where they will undergo a new quarantine there for 14 days.

Japan has announced, through the Minister of Health, that the number of infections on the ship, Corona virus, has risen to 355.

In turn, the Canadian government said it has allocated a plane to evacuate its citizens stranded in the ship, and South Korea and Hong Kong are also planning to evacuate their nationals.

In Algeria, the authorities announced the end of the quarantine of 43 people from three Maghreb countries who had been evacuated two weeks ago from the Chinese city of Wuhan, due to the spread of the virus.

Algerian Health Minister Abdel-Rahman Bin Bouzid said - in a press conference - that 36 Algerian citizens who were returning from Wuhan had been released after spending a period of preventive quarantine in the Marsa Hotel in the eastern suburb of Algiers.

The minister also reported that three of Libya and four of Mauritania have been quarantined, and HIV infections were not recorded among the 43 people.

As for Malaysia, it announced banning the entry of cruise ships from China into its territorial waters, as a precautionary measure to face the threat of the Corona virus.

In the Gaza Strip, the authorities announced yesterday the start of quarantine procedures for returnees from China to the Strip, to ensure that they are free of the Coronavirus.
