Clément Noël, the new cador of the world slalom, is part of the French selection for the giant of Niigata Yuzawa Naeba (Japan) on Saturday, which would be his first race in this discipline in the Alpine Skiing World Cup.

22-year-old Clément Noël settled in two seasons at the top of the world slalom hierarchy with six victories and while he is in the game to win the little globe of the specialty in three races at the end of the season (he is 2nd two points behind the Norwegian Henrik Kristoffersen).

In search of versatility, Clément Noël must discover the giant at the highest level on Saturday at Niigata Yuzawa Naeba, where a slalom is scheduled for Sunday, against the best in the world in the discipline like his teammate Alexis Pinturault or Henrik Kristoffersen.

"I have always been more comfortable in slalom, but I have had great results in youngsters by giant. As I have progressed from discipline, I have done less and less and I became not terrible ", had explained Clément Noël to several media before the tests of Chamonix two weeks ago.

"There I just want to progress, the first step would be a World Cup start, then to score World Cup points (the first 30 of a race, editor's note). I don't set limits, why not one day be versatile in both disciplines? "
