A new method of stealing personal data has appeared in Russia - using technology that allows you to determine the numbers of visitors who access the site from mobile devices. This is reported by the newspaper Izvestia.

It is noted that the technology is gaining popularity among marketers, mainly among real estate companies.

According to Alexander Bagov, senior pentester of the Digital Security audit department of the company, the companies themselves are unlikely to possess such technologies, rather they turn to third parties.

He emphasized that it is easy to find organizations on the network that provide services for determining telephone numbers.

As Vladimir Ulyanov, head of the Zecurion analytical center, noted, it’s technically easy to find out the numbers of those who come from mobile devices.

“A special code is set on the site that allows you to determine the phone number and influence the consumer not through contextual advertising, but through direct communication,” he said.

Earlier, Ulyanov talked about strong passwords for Internet users.

In November, economic security specialist Alexander Tyulin, in an interview with URA.RU, commented on reports of a new scheme that allows attackers to steal personal data from customers of Russian banks through access to employees' work mail.
