No more luggage storage at the station! The Toulouse start-up Pose ton sac is surfing the participative economy by innovating with luggage storage at the locals, in the city we visit. For a few hours or a few days, tourists can have their suitcases kept by an individual for a few euros.

Present for a year in the Pink City and in Paris, nearly 600 people are already registered on the platform, with nearly 350 hosts and 200 travelers.

The host sets the rate

"Like the other two founders of the start-up, I have traveled a lot and I welcome a lot of travelers into my home through couchsurfing sites which allow you to accommodate a tourist on your sofa," says Nicolas Canavéra, the president Put your bag down. The idea is to exchange with the inhabitant who will keep our luggage, to share good tips on the city to visit ”.

On the platform accessible on Smartphone and on the web, travelers and hosts register for free. Put down your bag ensures the reliability of the host so that the luggage is safe. Less expensive than a traditional luggage storage, the deposit costs between 6 and 15 euros, depending on the price set by the host, often linked to the geographical position of his accommodation. The latter remains fixed, without taking into account the number of suitcases kept. The host receives 50% of the sum, the rest goes to the start-up.

Travel-related discussions

"We are asked by people who have to leave their Airbnb accommodation but who want to finish visiting the light city before taking their train or their plane, explains Nicolas Canavéra. We also see a lot of cycle tourists and childless couples. Among the hosts, it is often retirees who want to make ends meet and have human exchanges. ”

It is this aspect of sharing around the trip that pleased Fanny, a Toulousaine living in the Saint-Simon district. In two months, she has already stored the luggage of six people. "I knew the concept through the couchsurfing community and I found it to be innovative and new," confides this Toulousaine working in human resources and who bills the service at 8 euros. This allows you to meet people from all walks of life and new cultures. I give them tourist advice to help them discover Toulouse in a more personal way. ”

Ultimately, the founders of Pose ton sac, sensitive to humanitarianism, want to form partnerships with associations in order to pay them back part of the money raised.
