Riyadh confirmed its readiness for dialogue despite the escalation in Yemen, and the Saudi-Emirati coalition held the Houthis responsible for the safety of the crew of a plane they shot down two days ago, while the Houthi group said that force is the only way to get the coalition to accept peace.

During his participation in the Munich Security Conference, Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud said that despite all the escalation taking place in Yemen, his country continues to dialogue and work for the benefit of the Yemenis.

Bin Farhan considered that the ball is in the crosshairs of the Houthis, as they must decide whether they want peace or impose control by force.

The Saudi minister added that the Kingdom reduced its military activity on the ground in Yemen by 98%, and that it remains for the other parties to focus on reaching an agreement.

On the other hand, Muhammad al-Bakhiti, a member of the Houthi political bureau of the island, said that the coalition only knows the language of force, and it is the only way to get it to accept peace.

Al-Bakhiti said that the developments in the field do not suggest calm features, but rather an escalation, and perhaps the last of its chapters is the downing of the Tornado plane in the Al-Jawf region in eastern Yemen.

The coalition returned to hold the Houthis responsible for the life and safety of the crew that crashed in Jouf, under international humanitarian law and the Third Geneva Convention.

The Houthi group had announced the shooting down of the fighter with an advanced air-to-surface missile, while it was carrying out what it said were hostile actions in the airspace of Al-Jawf governorate near the Saudi border.
