Emmanuel Macron should unveil his first tracks this week against radicalization, communitarianism or the funding of mosques. "He talks about war with Islamism", comments on Europe 1 Christine Ollivier, from the JDD. "He considers that there are enclaves in the hands of Islamists who would try to create Islamic mini-states there." Faced with this, Bruno Retailleau wishes to strengthen the presence of the State. The patron of LR senators first asks for "republican trusteeship" of communities which would be recognized as accomplices of communitarianism. "We are losing the fight against Islamism [...] soon, it will be too late," he explains. Asked whether there are "elected accomplices of the Islamists", Bruno Retailleau replies: "Of course. Right and left".

A constitutional bill

Co-author, with the head of centrist senators Hervé Marseille, of a constitutional bill aiming in particular at respecting national sovereignty, democracy and secularism, Bruno Retailleau believes that "what is especially lacking is lucidity and courage, whether it be political Islam, secularism but also immigration. "

For this to be constitutional, he specifies, "these provisions must be limited to individuals convicted of crimes of terrorism and representing a high degree of dangerousness. But I solemnly say this: if public action is hampered, then it a referendum will have to be held (...) It is a matter of life and death ".

"Jihadists must be tried on the spot, by states or an international tribunal"

Concerning the jihadists who wish to return to France, Bruno Retailleau considers that "there should be no return to France for those who betrayed their country. They must be tried on the spot, by the States or an international tribunal. The binationals must be stripped of their French nationality. For the French, I propose a penalty of national indignity with prohibition of access to French territory ".

As for the jihadists condemned before the 2016 law strengthening the fight against organized crime and terrorism, who will soon be released from prison, he will propose, "with Philippe Bas and Marc-Philippe Daubresse (...), in the very next days, a device which makes it possible to extend to these individuals the security surveillance and retention measures provided for by the law of 2016 ".

"Normal prisons have become 'jihadist factories' for him," said Christine Ollivier of the JDD. " Bruno Retailleau links Islamism, communitarianism and immigration", continues the journalist, "because he says that part of the problem comes from a carelessness at the level of immigration and that assimilation has become impossible".
