According to a security source, the attackers attacked the church during Sunday worship time. At least 20 people have been killed, local sources said. " People came for mass when the attackers broke into the village, " says our source. About fifteen wounded were evacuated to Sebba, the chief town of the province of Yagha, to be treated. Several people are missing. Security sources quoting witnesses said they were kidnapped by the attackers.

No official report of this attack on a church in Pansi is yet available. " Reinforcements are sent on the spot to rescue the survivors and find the abducted people ," says an official source. Several families have started to flee to Sebba, the capital of Yagha province, according to residents of this commune.

Abductions and executions

It is not the first time that religious and populations in this province have been attacked by unidentified armed men. A religious leader and four family members had been kidnapped and executed a few kilometers from the town of Sebba, not far from the border with Niger in the middle of last week.
